Sonos Ray

The Sonos Ray is the company’s new entry-level soundbar. It costs $279, which is $180 less expensive than Sonos’s other budget-friendly soundbar, the Beam (Gen 2), but it comes with some key tradeoffs. It connects to your TV via optical (instead of HDMI) and doesn’t support Dolby Atmos; Sonos’s pitch is that it’s a good fit for people with older TVs that only have an optical connection. The Ray also lacks a microphone for smart voice controls.

Luxury Gadgets That Are Probably Worth More Than Your Car

When “Tron” hit theaters in 1982 it introduced the world to the concept of the Grid, a digital world inside of a video game inhabited by sentient programs. The film was a feast for the eyes, offering up digital delights including the now-famous light cycle.

Nearly 30 years later, in 2010, the franchise was revisited in “Tron: Legacy,” returning viewers to the Grid, this time with impressively updated graphics, not to mention a brain-melting soundtrack by Daft Punk.

The light cycle got an upgrade, along with everything else, and that inspired the creation of a real-life replica motorcycle ripped straight from the silver screen. Appropriately, the replica light cycle boasted an electric motor instead of the typical combustion engine. According to Thrillist, it was commissioned for Hammacher Schlemmer, a high-end transportation company, and went to auction in through RM Auctions, a part of Sotheby’s.

While it was expected to sell for about $40,000, the top bid came in at nearly double that, selling for a ludicrous $77,000, (via CNET). All things considered, that’s not too bad for a bike that can get you to and from work while also avoiding the nefarious clutches of Clu.

Technology companies such as Lenovo, Realme, Lava and Logitech, among others launched a new line of smartwatches, earphones, LED lights and more this week (July 4-10).

DH’s Gadgets Weekly edition lists the latest prominent personal technology products to keep you abreast of everything that’s happening in the world of consumer electronics.

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 PC series
It features a 15.6-inch full HD (1920x1080p) IPS display with 250nits brightness, anti-glare tech and 120Hz refresh rate. Also, it supports two independent displays with one native display and one external monitor via HDMI.

It comes with a backlit keyboard, stereo speakers, 2W x2, Nahimic Audio, and HD 720p with a camera shutter.

It houses 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4-3200 RAM (configurable up to 16GB via two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots and dual-channel capable) and 512GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe 3.0×4 NVMe, and Windows 11 Home 64.

Lenovo’s new gaming laptop is powered by Intel Core i5-11300H (4C / 8T, 3.1 / 4.4GHz, 8MB), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 graphics processor and an integrated 45Wh cell with up to eight hours of battery life.

New technology company Ultrahuman earlier this week launched an innovative health tracking device Ring.

It comes in a minimalistic form factor but is designed for enduring rough usage conditions and workouts. The ring’s outer surface is made of a titanium body coated with tungsten carbide which is five times harder than tool steel and scratch-resistant. It has a smooth inner shell of the ring that makes it comfortable during sleep and rest scenarios. It also comes with power-packed 5-day battery life.
